My Wish for You This 2016

As I reflect on the gifts, triumphs and tribulations 2015 brought to my life. I realize that they were all necessary so that I may become the person I am today. I also continue to learn and grow because of my failures, and for this I am grateful.
Today, I want you to reflect on the lessons learned, memories made and dreams that still need to be accomplished for 2016. For my last post of 2015, I want you to remember that you are an exceptional human being that is here for a reason. Your reason is to identify your passion, so that you may fulfil your life’s purpose. When you find your mission you will find joy and you will transpire your joy to others. For 2016 seek to get out of your comfort zone and go after your goals and dreams. It is possible that you acquire all of your heart’s desire. Your desires were given to you for a reason, they were only given to you! So go after them! It will not be easy, but it will sure be worth it!

I desire for you what Ralph Waldo Emerson once said,
“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirit sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendship to brighten your being, faith sot that you can believe, confidence for when doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.

Thank you for taking time to read my blog. May we continue to learn and grow together on this journey of life. Remember your missions and go after it! Let 2016 be the start of the best years of the rest of your life. A friend once told me that 2016 is completely untouched! The possibilities are endless. Believe in yourself and go after all your hopes and dreams. It’s not only possible for you accomplish all your dreams, but necessary. We are all waiting for your gifts! See you 2016!

Compassion and Gratitude Equals Peace and Love

Look back in forgiveness, forward in hope,
down in compassion and up with gratitude.
-Zig Ziglar

I was asked by a friend what I was expecting from my husband this year for Christmas. I honestly had not thought about it. I told her that I at my age, the gifts that I wanted could not be bought. I told her that it may sound like a cliché, but I do believe that two of the gifts that I was seeking for myself were compassion and gratitude. “Why gratitude and compassion?” she asked.  I told her that these two desires were a subset of peace and love for ourselves and others. Today I want to discuss or show you how practicing gratitude and compassion can lead to peace and love.
Why gratitude?
Gratitude is a gift that I am seeking this year because gratitude magnifies the blessings in your life. Gratitude lets you see that you are blessed and brings you joy. It shows you that it could be worst but gratitude also gives you a sense of being supported. If you practice gratitude there is nothing you need, so anything extra is just a cherry on top! I feel that when I don’t focus on my blessings my pain and sorrow gets deeper. Without gratitude you only see the negative things in your life. If you exclude gratitude, you go through life feeling a sense of lack. People who have happy lives have this sense of completeness. They are never seeking for more, but the irony is that they attract more wonderful things to their lives. My goal for you this holiday season is to practice gratitude so that your future is full of joy, peace and love!
Why compassion?
You want love in your heart? Practice compassion for yourself and others. What do I mean by this you ask? When you have compassion for yourself, you love yourself. You do things for yourself that benefit the growth of your spirit. You never compromise your mission. You know you are valuable. With compassion you are able to love yourself and others because you have an open heart. If you have an open heart the energy of love you send out will reflect back to you in abundance. With compassion in your heart you get to feel the joy of helping others. You identify with others because we are interconnected we are one. With compassion you find love and peace in your soul.
If you struggle with compassion towards others this is a reminder of how to go about it in "Just Like Me." steps:
Step 1: "Just like me, this person is seeking happiness in his/her life."
Step 2: "Just like me, this person is trying to avoid suffering in his/her life."
Step 3: "Just like me, this person has known sadness, loneliness and despair."
Step 4: "Just like me, this person is seeking to fill his/her needs."
Step 5: "Just like me, this person is learning about life."
As I continue to reflect on why I will seek compassion and gratitude for my life, I concluded that the end result is peace and love. This is something that I also wish for you. This is the time of the year when we get to reflect on the past, look forward to the future but most of all stay present. When thinking about what I feel is a gift to our soul, compassion and gratitude came to mind. Compassion is the gift you give to others (and yourself) and gratitude is a gift you give to yourself.

You Need Change for The Adventure of Your Life

"We cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are."
-Max De Pree

I have a seven year old daughter name Miranda, who will be turning eight next month. Last week I told her that we needed to start to focus on her birthday celebration. It has become a tradition that right after the holidays, we have a big birthday party with fifty plus guest. It’s a very elaborate celebration. For the last seven years the theme for her birthday parties have been Disney Princesses. It’s a great time with family and friends, something that we all looked forward to every year after the holidays! But this year the tradition will end because she asked if she could have a spa birthday party with her best friends instead. I tried to convince her to not change the tradition, but I quickly realized that I was fearing change. I wanted for my little girl to still want Disney Princess theme parties, but she is growing up. She is seeking change and change is inevitable. I was surprised at my resistance to her growing up. Me, someone who advocates change and who understands that we must seek change if we want to grow. But I understood fear appeared in my heart because change and fear go hand in hand! I was reminded that it was understandable to fear change but was also reminded to embrace it and not fight it.

As I mentioned before change is inevitable and can be scary. Want it or not change is coming. Today I want to talk about the necessary change for a better you. Change for a Daring Adventure! What changes will you embark on this New Year? What changes are you struggling with? Here are three things you should consider when seeking change.

Seek change when you are seeking self-improvements.
Are you doing something that is compromising you true potential? There is true awesomeness in you and you need to discover it! Are you seeking to move up in your career? Are you seeking a different career? Do you want to get healthier? Then you must seek change. In some cases such as these change is a whisper it does not barge through the door and tells you it’s time to do go. Change will not happen because you need it. Change will happen when you go after it!  Change should not only be sought after but it should be a requirement in these situations! Yes, change can be uncomfortable, because we are creatures of habit. But you have to be ok with being uncomfortable to be the person you were destined to be!

Change for a better life.
Are you happy, I mean HAPPY not just content with your relationship with your children, partner or family? If you said yes! Skip this section. If not then you must seek change. I believe that in the area of personal relationships you should never be content. In these areas you should seek happiness. The trick to being happy with your relationships is to be the change. Remember, a couple of weeks ago I talked about being the change you want to see. Well you must apply that same principle here. Don’t seek to change others seek to change yourself.

Change for new beginnings.
Change is inevitable. You don’t need to seek change all the time because it will find you, and this is not a bad thing. Again, I know it’s scary but at the end you will see it was necessary for that new begging. In my case my little girl is growing up. She is calling the shots about what she wants for her life. This is her new beginning and mine. I have to embrace who she is becoming and continue to support her in her growth. There is something positive to that will develop from that new beginning, sometimes you see it right away other times it slowly appears. Change is opening doors to more wonderful things if you decide to open that door graciously.

Embrace change don’t fear it for a daring adventure. When you do, you will see that change is here to push you to other wonderful things for your life. Change is here to show you what you are made of. Change is here to remind you that there is more for you than you ever imagined. Until next Monday!

Any time I am a witness of impatience, or unkindness I wonder how the unkind person became so disconnected. I see above the rudeness and unkindness, I see their hurting spirit. I hope you are a person of kindness and I hope you understand that everyone is fighting an inner battle when they are not kind. Be kind but above all be patient. Have a wonderful weekend everyone and see you on Monday:)

Our Prime Purpose

It is within our nature to help and support each other. We may struggle with this view when we live in fear. To help others brings joy and a sense of meaning. How wonderful for you if this is your practice. Try it if it's not.  Happy Wednesday:)

Daydream With A Purpose!

"Losers visualize the penalties of failure.
Winners Visualize the rewards of success."
-William S. Gilbert
Last week I attended Sought After Speaker Summit, by Caterina Rando in San Francisco. She is a powerhouse when it comes to the business of public speaking and an exceptional human being! I learned a lot about the business of Public Speaking, but was also reminded of the power and the importance visualization has to acquiring dreams. We did a visualization exercise that transported me five years into my future that brought some tears. These were tears of joy, because I believe that visualizations foreshadow your dreams to come!
This morning I want to talk about visualization so that you can also be on our way to acquiring your dreams. Remember, what you focus on you attract! It starts with a vision and moves on from there. Skeptics may argue that visualization is a waste of time but there is scientific proof that your brain can not tell the difference between a visualized image and reality. Many successful people such as Jim Carey and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been very vocal on the power of visualization. “It’s all in the mind.” Arnold has said. Today, I want to teach you how what worked for Arnold and Jim can work for you!
I believe that visualizations are mental rehearsals. It’s the essence of believing. You create images in your mind of having whatever you want, and if you are patient and work towards it you will get it! Key words patience and work toward what you want. Here are the three steps to visualization to make your dreams come true!

Smell, taste, feel when you visualize.
What does it smell like when you acquire that dream or goal? Can you taste it? What is the feeling like? Doe it bring joy to your life? Remember that your subconscious mind does not know the difference between real and made up. In essence you are rehearsing or preparing yourself for when it happens. It’s not about hope, it’s about being there right now! Play with it dream big. Let your desires be unrealistic. Successful people where never realistic. Trust that what you smell, taste and feel will be yours!

Focus on end result.
See yourself accomplishing your dreams or goals. Don’t focus on what it will take to get there. See yourself doing it. For example, when I started visualizing my dreams I always saw myself being successful. I never doubted that I could be doing what I am doing now. I was not realistic as to the time or the work that had to be put it. I simply saw my end result and strived for that. Everything you need to accomplish your goals will come to you. Don’t worry about the details just focus on the end result!
Fake it till you become it.
Live your life as if you have succeeded in your goals. Begin to dress, talk, walk and look like the person you want to be. I have clients who feel that they are not being real when they do this. I remind them its dress rehearsal and they are getting ready for their final performance. I ask them to live it up! Also, it’s important to use positive talk with your affirmations. Tell yourself how awesome you are and how you bring value to your success.

Visualizations are the realities you will bring to your life. Don’t believe me? Look around you, everything you see started in your mind. Yes, even those things that are not giving you joy. That was brought out of fear, but just the same it started in your mind. Whatever your belief, one thing that is clear is that the power of imagination is evident. Visualizing is a powerful tool because it’s rehearsing what is coming your way. Good or bad it’s coming! I hope this morning I gave you some awareness on how to have good visualizations, that will make your dreams not your fears come true. Until next Monday!

Watch That Negative Voice

We become the voice we listen to! When you let those negative thoughts take over you lose your true essence, the real you! So let your true voice speak and quiet down the other voice that puts fear and lies in your head. Stop that negative chatter that does not serve you! Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.

It's All About Perspective!

When going through tough times remember that it could be worse, because  it can! Never forget that others may not be as blessed as you, and that you can always find something positive to focus on.  If you can't and you are still breathing be grateful for your breath!
