"What if I fail?" "Oh, but my darling, what if you FLY?"

I want to send a, “shout out,” to those brave souls who have taken a, “leap of faith,” and not a, “leap of fear!” It takes courage, clarity and faith to make this bold move. For those of you who are ready to take a leap of faith but have been stopped by fear, there is hope. In today’s blog I will encourage and give you some suggestions that will support with this life changing journey.
I know firsthand what it is like to take a leap of faith. It’s not easy to go into the unknown. The unconventional leap of faith I decided to take made me change my classroom. It made me shift my abilities to teach academic lessons to life lessons. I know how fear can control your mind. I know how fear can stop you from your purpose. Today, I want to assure you that you have what it takes to take a leap of faith if you follow these four simple steps.
Silence yourself to listen to your true self.
It is human nature to seek advice from family and friends about changes you are seeking for your life. But when you are feeling the urge to make a life change seek that inner voice. The one that truly knows. In my case it was that voice that guided me to my true life's purpose. It’s this voice that continues to guide me. You also have this inner voice follow it!
Replace the fear of the unknown with excitement.
We are creatures of habit. We want to know what will happen every moment of our lives. Taking a leap of faith requires you to be ok with not knowing. To anticipate only positive things to come. Take five minutes a day to visualize positive things you expect to happen. What does it look like? What does it feel like? Who is celebrating your success with you? When you call this positive energy to your life, I assure you, you will cultivate it!
Let your support system reflect who you want to be.
Look around you. Who is your support system? You are only as good as the people you surround yourself with. Seek for mentors that are where you want to be. Are you hanging around with positive people that encourage and wish only the best for you? It’s important that your social circle not only cheers you up, but helps you up when you are down.
Life is too short to play it safe.
Remember you were born to have an exceptional life. You don’t get an exceptional life by playing it safe. You have to get out of your comfort zone to get there. It requires you to believe that it’s necessary for you to conquer your fears so you may do so. Take a leap of faith in yourself, by going back to school, changing your job, or ending a relationship that is harming your spirit. Trust me when I tell you that even if there are bumps with a leap of faith, you are capable of handling any growth experience that may come your way. At the end of our lives we never regret the things we did, we only regret what we did not do.
Remember, believe that by willing to change the old for something new, and taking a leap of faith into the unknown you can find out what you are capable of becoming.
Until next Monday, Believe. Change. Become.
