Something Inside of You Knows More Than You Think!

We all have that inner voice that is guiding us to our life’s purpose. But only a few will decide to listen to it to fulfill life's purpose. Today we will look into the power of intuition and how it is your eternal guide to some of your deepest questions. We all have this beautiful gift and I want to encourage you to use it so that you may live the life that you were intended to live!

Intuition is your daily compass. We have all felt that uncomfortable sensation when we were asked to do something that just did not feel right. You felt that sick feeling in your gut. When I am going to embark in something that my intuition is telling me is wrong for me, I lose sleep. It’s a way of my unconscious mind waking me up from my slumber or what I also call, “my practical side.”

A year ago as I was waking up in a panic at 2:00 AM for several weeks. There was something that was taking my sleep away. The reason being was that I had to make my decision about returning the following school year as a teacher or to pursue my Life Coaching Practice.  “Practical Nancy,” argued that I was in a very comfortable place in my career. That I was a respected teacher, who enjoyed her students and colleagues very much. I was reminded that this wonderful profession gave me the opportunity to have summers off to be with my family and had provided nicely financially.  “Intuitive Nancy,” would wake me up to tell me that I was intended to do more and not to settle!  Finally on one of those restless nights I was out of my slumber! My intuition told me loud and clear to pursue my life goal of becoming a Life Coach/Inspirational Speaker, because that is what my life purpose is! It is because I followed my intuition that I am here. It is because of that inner voice that tells me that it will all work out that I am blogging. It is because of my intuition that I am in the National Speakers Academy. It was not, “Practical Nancy,” calling the shots it was, “Intuitive Nancy,” taking the lead. It is my intuition that is currently giving me the greatest joys of my life.

Intuition is truly your life compass when pursuing your life’s purpose or mission. Some of the most intuitive people that ever lived have had great success. Souls such as, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Jobs and Richard Branson were not being practical when they embarked in their life’s purpose. Even when the odds were against them they followed that inner voice that told them to, “Go for it!”  I believe that success is about being in tune with your intuition. Your intuition knows more than your practical side about pursuing dreams and reaching goals. Your intuition gives you the courage to continue and persevere. Your practical side may only see what your five senses can tell you but your intuition gives you more.

We were all given the wonderful gift of intuition. Many of us have opened the gift and are using it to fulfill your life’s purpose. For those of you who have not opened your, “gift of intuition,” you need to do it now! Believe me when I tell you that something inside of you knows how to guide you into your life’s mission. You just have to listen to your body, listen to your gut, don’t conform, and don’t be polite! If you are losing sleep over something that you should or should not be doing, practice meditation, take a walk to nature, go to the ocean, escape your daily routine but seek that inner voice! The inner voice that you may have silenced because it is not very, “practical,” knows more than you think.

I hope this morning I have enticed you to be more mindful of the inner compass that you were given, it is there to serve you.  You just have to know how to seek it so it can support you in the journey of life. Have a wonderful week filled with intuition and success!

Until next Monday, Believe in your gift, Change your views about intuition to Become, whom you were destined to be!

The Beauty of Obstacles is in The Eye of The Beholder

Obstacles are the land mines of life, if you chose to see them that way!

Behind you are the challenges you’ve met.
Before you lies new possibilities.
Today you choose the direction of your life. –Unknown

Happy Monday friends! How are you dealing with the land mines of your life? How have those setbacks made you grow? In today’s blog I will discuss how the most challenging times can bring the most empowering lessons, if you are ready to learn the lesson of course. Also, we will go into what these life’s lessons are trying to tell you and how beauty can be found in obstacles if you are ready to see them!

I was listening to a country song by Garth Brooks, “Unanswered Prayers.” Maybe you heard it. This song talks about those moments in our life when we prayed for something that we wanted but the prayer was never answered. Years later you realize why that pain and sorrow was essential for growth. You may also discover that what you were praying for did not equate to what you actually got at the end. Obstacles are that, unanswered prayers that are painful, but essential for life. Obstacles shift your life’s direction to a better path. Don’t curse obstacles embrace them! See obstacles as lessons learned, but also a better ending to your story.

What are obstacles trying to teach us?

Obstacles are trying to show us who we truly are. There is a reason why you are going through that pain and suffering, it’s because we have the strength to overcome it! Never doubt that you are resilient and that you can take it. You were chosen for this painful task because you have what it takes to conquer it! Those times of extreme sadness, times of heartbreak and loneliness force us to get to the core of who we really are. Once you can see your true core, what you are made off you see that you can overcome anything!

Where can an obstacle take us?
An obstacle can take us to a better path. In every situation where you feel that your path is blocked there is a better road to take. These land mines literally spell out what we must do. They reveal parts of our spirit that needs to be fined tuned. They show us things that are blocking our personal growth. Embrace obstacles because they now what path you should take. Trust when I tell you that as you look back to your life, you will realize that it was necessary for you to go through that road block because it gave you a better destination. When I look back at some of my land mines, it is very clear to me why I had to go through the pain and disappointment. The pain and disappointment that I faced in Public Education, changed my life’s focus into what I am doing today. I thought I was going to continue with my career as an educator but the obstacles I faced forced me to change my classroom.

Can obstacles make us stronger?
There is no one of us that is free from suffering, pain or obstacles in our lives. With that said know that you are getting stronger every time you encounter obstacles. Yes, obstacles make us stronger! Obstacles show us what we are made of. Obstacles push us to prevail. Obstacles remind us what we are made of. Think back at a time that you were going through an obstacle. Do you recall the pain and suffering? Now think about what you felt when you were out of it. Does that not make you proud? For me obstacles have demonstrated the power of my spirit. I am an eternal optimist by nature, so this is a benefit to the way I view pain and suffering in my life. I view it as, “a moment in time, that will pass and by the end I will be stronger because of it.” I hope you can do the same.

The beauty of obstacles in your life is in the eye of the beholder. I truly believe that if you approach obstacles or land mines in your life as opportunities for growth they will be that. But if you surrender to the challenge, it will leave you defeated and fearing life. Today, I hope I reminded you that deep within your core you have the strength to conquer the land mines of your life. I want to also, tell you that you were given these obstacles because you are strong enough to take them. Keep your head up and know that the challenges you overcome will lift you up, make you STRONG, and give you direction to your true path! I will close with this quote,
"If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere."- Frank A. Clark

Until next Monday, Believe. Change. Become.

Practice Gratitude For a More Possitive Attitude

“If you don’t feel grateful for what you already have,
what makes you think you will be happy with more?”-Unknown

Today I want to talk about the power of gratitude in your life and why you should get some! I decided to write about gratitude because I have noticed when I practice gratitude in my life it changes a negative attitude into an attitude of positivity. I don’t have a perfect life, yet gratitude brings joy and perfection to my surroundings. So this beautiful morning I want to show you that with gratitude in your life you will not focus on what you are missing, but on the abundance of your life.

I heard my grandmother express gratitude every day of her life. Back then I did not fully comprehend what she was doing but now I know that, “Gracias a Dios,” or, “Thank the Lord,” was a way she expressed her gratitude. As a child I did not understand what she was grateful for.  She was a poor mother of six children who she raised on her own for half of the year, because my grandfather was in the United States working. Her oldest daughter suffered from a mental disorder that devastated the whole family  economically and emotionally, yet she gave gratitude that her daughter was alive and still with the family. This attitude of gratitude gave her strength to prevail in a tough times.
Why should you practice gratitude?
Not only because I can tell you from personal experience that it makes you feel phenomenal, but also science has proven the benefits are endless! Research has demonstrated that people who regularly practice gratitude by taking time to notice and reflect upon the things that they are thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have a stronger immune system. Gratitude gives you power! Gratitude gives focus to all the wonderful things in your life that you may take for granted. With gratitude you don’t feel a sense of lack, but quite the opposite. When you practice gratitude you let the universe know that you are open to more beautiful things that it is preparing for you!

When and how should you practice gratitude?
You should practice gratitude every waking moment of your life!  Notice and appreciate each day’s gifts. Start by being grateful for your breath, family and home. It is best if you also notice what new things you are also grateful for. When practicing gratitude it is also suggested that journaling is a good way to keep it going. When journaling you should be specific. For example, if you write you are grateful for your children, what exactly are you grateful for? When I think about my son and daughter. I am grateful for my son’s sarcasm. He is fourteen, so his sarcasm makes me laugh. I am grateful to daughters smile because she makes me smile. Please don’t limit yourself to only writing, but if it works for you do it!  Be practical, the whole point of being grateful is to be present and count your blessings no matter how small they may be, not to add another task to your life.

Did I get you to think of what you are grateful for? Gratitude should not simply be a reaction to getting what you want. Trust me when I tell you that if you try to find gratitude into your experiences, even when they are negative there will be a more positive result. Look around I bet there are many things that you can be grateful for. It’s a matter of changing the lens! I hope you have a week filled with gratitude. Until next Monday, Believe. Change. Become!

The Four P's Needed for Your Dreams

I hope you all had an awesome holiday! As you can see I had a great one, thus not posting my Monday blog yesterday. Now let’s get right to it!
Have you zeroed in on your dream yet? Do you know exactly what you want for your life? Have you asked yourself what is it going to take you to make your dreams come true? In today’s blog I will discuss what type of character is required to acquire goals and dreams.

So, what is required to make your dreams come true? In my opinion you need The Four P’s of Life to make any dream come true. You need to be positive, persistent, perseverant and patient.
To be positive is to see your dreams happening before they actually do! It is to find the good in the struggles and the smiles in the failures that you will encounter. When you practice positivity with your life dreams and goals there is never a doubt that it will happen. The question is not, “why me?” But, “why not me?” You must train your mind to be positive because positivity will fuel your dreams not crush them.

What does it mean to be persistent to persevere? To be persistant is to understand that life can happen when you have planned your dreams. I have had many stumps on the road when pursuing my life mission. Yet, these stumbles have been that, "stumbles." I may be down for a bit, but give me a minute to get up and be back at it!  Keep on, keep on, and know that with persistence your brilliance will expand. Remember things may not always go according to plan, but you must continue to persist to persevere.

Patience is one of the most important virtues you may have. To be patient is to understand that things may not happen in your time but in the right time! To be patient is to not complain when things don’t work out! It is to be wise and to understand that things may not be happening for you right now, but that they will happen. To be patient is to wait with a smile on your face even when there is nothing to smile about. Remember if you are patient with your goals and dreams nothing is impossible!

Now that you know that it takes positivity, persistence, perseverance and patience to be successful with your dreams get to them! Remember that those big dreamers had to stay positive, be persistent and practiced patience to make their dreams come true.  Be strong and hold on when you feel you can’t no more. Believe that the struggles you may encounter are making you worthy of those dreams, and be patient for what is meant to be yours will come in due time!
Until, next Monday, Believe. Change. Become!
